Dubai tourist information

Even if Dubai is located in a small space, it offers a comprehensive range of attractions for visitors. Exploring the city in a single day allows you to enjoy everything from breathtaking sand dunes to rugged mountains, a wide choice of sandy beaches to well kept lush green parks, from luxurious modern districts to dusty villages and ancient wind towers and from state-of-the-art shopping malls to traditional Bedouin tents.Since earliest times, Dubai has been a meeting place for pearl fivers, fishermen and other merchants. Dubai is both an international business center and a laid-back tourist haven. While you may see sophisticated infrastructure and modern facilities, Dubai keeps to its roots with the people’s tradition and culture seen in daily activities throughout the city. Today, the city is divided into Old Dubai and Modern Dubai, where the extremes are both noticeably remarkable and overwhelming. In Old Dubai, be sure to check out Dubai Museum, where you can see the history of Dubai and its neighboring emirates through various artifacts that displays how this humble pearling village rose up to become a modern metropolis. Another historical must-see is the Al Ahmadiya School, which was built in 1912 and was restored to exhibit old diplomas and reed pens.Once you’re in the neighborhood of Old Dubai, you can also check out Jumeirah Mosque at Jumeirah Road, which is considered one of the most attractive mosques in the region. It is one of the few mosques open for non-Muslim tours, which run on Thursdays. You can also visit Shindagha District, which is home to the open museums of the Heritage Village and the former home of Sheikh Rashid Al-Maktoum and Bastakiya District, which is home to a plethora of buildings made in traditional style.
When you wish to see a glimpse of Modern Dubai, a must-see is Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest structure. Although still in renovation to reach the 800m height in late 2009, the building is currently way over 600m. Another distinctly modern building is the Burj al-Arab Hotel, which self-proclaims that it is the world’s first 7-star hotel.

Chinese Travel

Travel to China is a life time experience and a better way to understand China. Only when you are there, you may start to appreciate and understand what a difference to live in a nation with a population of 1.3 billion. China offers variety choices for visitors. If you are interested in Chinese history, Chinese culture and Chinese scenery, your trip will be very fulfilled and very interesting. If you want to enjoy a peaceful sunshine beach holiday, there are plenty of tourist areas along the coastal line, which have unspoiled beaches and luxury hotels for visitors.
In Hainan Island, the beautiful Sangya beaches are opened whole year around and there is no winter in this island. If you want excitements and nightlife, stay in big cities. There are many places every night for international gathering. If you are adventurers, go to remote areas to watch wild life or visit minorities to see how they live in the hillsides or desert. If you are sporty, take a cycle trip along the countryside, enjoy the rural life and meet with Chinese people along the route. You may have heard or read a lot about China from books, newspapers, magazines and TV programs. Some of them are true but most of them are out of date, incorrect or even false. China is different from many of your previous experiences and may shock you in many ways. This is what China is!
This country is changing and progressing every day. Yet it is still a developing country. After the economic reform, most of the developments concentrate in major cities and remote areas are still very backward. China is a very populated nation and people have to cope with the crowded environment. Foreign visitors may not get use to the mentality of the people and sometimes become frustrated with the situation, which they never experienced before. Basically Chinese are reserve, peaceful and nice. They are very polite too but in their own way. When a foreigner is willing to take a more positive attitude to recognize the difference, the trip will become worthwhile or you may ruin your trip completely by unreasonable expectation and misjudgment of the people in general.

The most beautiful places in the world -

Petronas Twin Towers
The Petronas Twin Towers (also known as the Petronas Towers or Twin Towers), in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia were the world's tallest buildings, before being surpassed by the Taipei 101. However, the towers are still the tallest twin buildings and office building in the world. Tower 1 was built by Hazama Corporation and Tower 2 by Samsung Engineering & Construction and Kukdong Engineering & Construction (both of South Korea). They were the world's tallest buildings from 1998 to 2004 if measured from the level of the main entrance to the structural top, the original height reference used by the US-based Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat from 1969 (three additional height categories were introduced as the tower neared completion in 1996).
The State Hermitage Museum
The State Hermitage occupies six magnificent buildings situated along the embankment of the River Neva, right in the heart of St Petersburg. The leading role in this unique architectural ensemble is played by the Winter Palace, the residence of the Russian tsars that was built to the design of Francesco Bartolomeo Rastrelli in 1754-62. This ensemble, formed in the 18th and 19th centuries, is extended by the eastern wing of the General Staff building, the Menshikov Palace and the recently constructed Repository.
The Kennedy space center
The John F. Kennedy Space Center (KSC) is the NASA space vehicle launch facility and Launch Control Center (spaceport) on Merritt Island, Brevard County, Florida, United States. The site is near Cape Canaveral, midway between Miami and Jacksonville, Florida. It is 34 miles (55 km) long and around 6 miles (10 km) wide, covering 219 square miles (567 km2). A total of 13,500 people work at the site as of early 2008. There is a visitor center and public tours; KSC is a major tourist destination for visitors to Florida. Because much of KSC is a restricted area and only nine percent of the land is developed, the site also serves as an important wildlife sanctuary; Mosquito Lagoon, Indian River, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge and Canaveral National Seashore are also features of this area.
The golden gate bridge and the San Francisco bay
The Golden Gate Bridge is a suspension bridge spanning the Golden Gate, the opening of the San Francisco Bay onto the Pacific Ocean. As part of both U.S. Route 101 and State Route 1, it connects the city of San Francisco on the northern tip of the San Francisco Peninsula to Marin County. The Golden Gate Bridge had the longest suspension bridge span in the world when it was completed in 1937, and has become an internationally recognized symbol of San Francisco and California. Since its completion, the span length has been surpassed by eight other bridges. It still has the second longest suspension bridge main span in the United States, after the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in New York City. In 2007, it was ranked fifth on the List of America's Favorite Architecture by the American Institute of Architects.

The night train from Kochi, India

The Kerala region in the south of India is beautiful and easily reached by train. To get to the southern parts of Kerala from Kochi, or Cochin, we had to take the night train and travel along the Nilgiri Mountain Railway which will take you over the Nilgiri Hills and into an amazing green landscape. The blue train was stuffed with goods, goats and people and people were literally hanging out of the windows when we departed the station of Kochi. The view from our window was amazing and I couldn't believe how colourful the landscape, filled with green fields, palm and fruit trees, was. We decided to book a cabin as the ride took a few hours but most of the Indian people stood for hours in a pretty crowded train compartment with a few wooden benches for the mothers and elderly. It was an amazing and unique experience and I would recommend taking the night train to anybody ready to be surprised by these amazing landscapes!

The beautiful Mysore Palace in India

Mysore is a city in the state of Karnataka and together with Bangalore a very important touristic drawcard. Mysore is famouse for its rich culture and good silk.Tourists also come here to experience the famous Dasara festival. But just the amazing Mysore Palace Ground with its beautiful palace and lush gardens. The Mysore Palace reminds us of the rich past of this city as the capital of the former Kingdom of Mysore. On the temple grounds you will also find the beautiful Sri Bhuvaneswari Temple with it golden entrance and carefully decorated bellshaped ornaments. The Sri Bhuvaneswari Temple is enriched with colourful little Hindu statues at the site of the Gopuram, or gateway tower. The photos of the temple are amazing also because it was a beautiful day and the sun reflected beautifully on the yellow and golden ornaments and silk drapings of the statues. The Mysore Palace Ground is really peaceful and there is very unique atmosphere. People and cows walked sidelines towards the Palace and I was so lucky to get this beautiful picture of the Mysore Palace with this Indian cow posing in front of it, priceless!

The beautiful streets in Mamallapuram,India

Mamallapuram is an Indian town in the state of Tamil Nadu and completely different than any town I've ever seen.Walking through the streets of Mamallapuram you don't know where to look and its a strange blend of new images, smells and sounds. As we walk we encounter plastic eating cows making their way through town, kids running around barefooted wearing their Unicef rucksacks, scratching dogs licking their wounds and people heading to the loacal markets.
Fruit markets in..Mamallapuram is known for its rocks carvings and monolithic sculptures and everywhere you come either you hear the sound of the workers carving their sculptures or people turn up wanting you to visit their shop to sell you their finest art. Of course we had to see for ourselves and we even bought some nice souvenirs. The roads are the worst we have seen in India and driving around you have to avoid the huge craters to make sure you survive the ride. Alongside the road people dump all kinds of rubbish and even human feces! We ask a little boy if he will show us his schoolbook and withing two seconds we're surrounded by kids wanting to show us what they have learned this week. Unfortunately the writing is in Tamil, the main language of the Tamil Nadu region, so we can't understand it all.We also visited some temples and everybody we meet is interested in who we are and why we are in Mamallapuram. Of course they also want us to buy as much as possibile and we return to the hotel with more than we stuff our bags with.Market stand and bananas in..The food is very spicy and something you have to get used to
